Take part in research
You can take part in person and online. We may give you a voucher for taking part.
In person
We will either ask:
- You to come to a government or public building
- To visit you at home or work
This type of research can take between 30 minutes and 1 hour.
We will ask if we can record the research. We do this to help us remember what you did and what you said. We may share the recording with other teams at GOV.UK, but we never share your personal details. It is up to you if you want to say ‘yes’ or ‘no’.
Online
We will give you an online task. You must provide your own internet connection and computer, smartphone or tablet.
This type of research can take between 30 minutes and 1 hour depending on the task.
There may be vouchers to be offered, depending on the research.
If you take part in research online, you’ll be given a task to do on GOV.UK. You don’t need to travel anywhere for these sessions but you’ll need your own internet connection, computer, phone or tablet to take part. The sessions usually last 30 minutes.
Who can take part?
To join up and help, you must be 18 or older.
If you live in the UK, you can take part in both types of research. If you live outside the UK but in the European Union, you can only take part in online research.
